The shops had been there for a great number of years and it was an unique part of Hong Kong&#8217;s history. In 2002, it was revealed that the entire block was scheduled to be demolished to make way for new developments. Despite much protest, the teardown went as planned. I actually grew up in the area  and got my first BMX from a bicycle shop there. Today, it&#8217;s just a big block of green construction site.<br clear="all" /></p>
