No IE at work

December 19th, 2008

It was discovered that IE has another serious security flaw, and there’s currently no official patch/fix from MS at this point. We got an email from IT the other day telling us to stop using the internet completely. Seriously. I took the liberty to translate that to no internet with IE.

It sounds like MS has a patch out now, but so far I haven’t heard anything whether if we can jump back onto the internet yet. I guess we can only visit the shiba cam using Firefox for the mean time.

Upgraded to WP 2.7

December 19th, 2008

Finally took the time to upgrade and it was very easy. I just followed the simple and clear instructions on the site and everything worked on the first try. This is the way it should be! Good job WordPress!

Open Escrow

July 10th, 2008

With no response in a long time, all of a sudden things are moving. Received a counter offer last night, we signed it. This morning, they accepted it and we’re in escrow! WOW! Next up, putting our house on the market, hopefully that will go smoothly.

They decided to use one of my photos from the match to mention David Bentley’s recent top form, and were nice enough to credit me too. I found out by looking at the referral links in Flickr stats.

Getting a new TV tonight!

January 16th, 2008

The colorwheel of my DLP TV has been making funny noises, so I scheduled for a service visit to get it fixed. The repair guy came and tried to replace it, after installing the new wheel from his truck, it was still making the same noise, plus this time the colors seemed worse than my old one. He then said he had to order the whole engine assembly, after a few minutes in his truck getting approval from the office, he came and said the part’s been on backorder for a long time, and they’d have to replace my TV. NICE! I’ll be going to Bestbuy tonight. I’m glad I got the extended protection plan!
